LEGACIES

Before preparing or changing your Will, you are strongly advised to seek advice from a solicitor to ensure that all legal eventualities are covered to suit your personal circumstances.

1.Pecuniary or fixed sum legacy: When you want to leave a specific sum to the St Pancras Welfare Trust, we suggest the following wording:

I bequeath to the St Pancras Welfare Trust (Charity No. 261261) of 212 Eversholt Street, London. NW1 1BD absolutely the sum £...for its general purposes.

2. Bequeathing the residue of your estate to the St Pancras Welfare Trust: This is when you bequeath the residue of your estate after all other bequests, costs etc. have been deducted. This type of legacy will ensure that once the pecuniary and / or specific gifts and costs have been discharged, the remainder of your estate (or a percentage of it) will be passed to the St Pancras Welfare Trust. We suggest the following wording:

I give, devise and bequeath, to the St Pancras Welfare Trust (Charity No. 261261) of 212 Eversholt Street, London. NW1 1BD (hereinafter named 'the St Pancras Welfare Trust') the residue of my estate absolutely and direct that:

i. The assets comprising such residue may be used for the general purpose of the St Pancras Welfare Trust whether of an income or a capital nature:

ii. A receipt signed by a person for the time being authorised by the council of the St Pancras Welfare Trust shall be good and sufficient discharge to my executors for the payment or transfer of the said assets to the St Pancras Welfare Trust and that my executors shall not be responsible for seeing to the application thereof.

3. Leaving a specific legacy: Your solicitors will be able to advise if you wish to leave a specific property to the St Pancras Welfare Trust, preparing appropriate wording for your Will. Remember to give your solicitor a clear description of the property.

4. If you want to change your existing Will: You can easily add a legacy in favour of the St Pancras Welfare Trust to  your existing Will by using a Codicil. Your solicitor will advise you how to do this so that no legal or technical mistakes occur. No matter whether your legacy is large or small, the St Pancras Welfare Trust is extremely grateful for your support.
